4th of July Invitation

Hello all! In an attempt to practice my graphic skills, I came up with an invitation that someone could use for Independence Day for perhaps a BBQ or just any type of 4th of July party.

*Note the names and contact information on this invite are completely fictional. Any similarities to persons alive or living are purely coincidental.

Happy holidays everyone!

Earth Queen Ivy

My my, how the month has flown by so fast. Honestly I probably should have worked on this more than I did, but time has a way of just getting away from me more often than not. Anyway, this was my original concept for my Game Artisan Comicon Challenge and this...

...is my brand new, fully fleshed out idea of which I've lovingly dubbed, Earth Queen Ivy. Though I may have took way more time on this than I initially should have, I'm actually quite happy with how it turned out. Now comes the hard part, I just got to model, paint and pose her. XD T_T With everything planned out so nicely, I'm hoping it'll take a lot of the guess work out of this model for me and not get me stuck too long on any one thing.

Current Projects

Okay, so if I start from beginning to end then one project I started and haven't completed would be one that I didn't even post.

Looking at it now after all this time I can really see some major problems in this sculpt. The arms and legs specifically as well as the face.

Next up is the dog-boy sculpt I was working on last year. Though it doesn't look like I touched upon it much since then, I did however do some major clean ups in optimizing such a big file. Seriously, my machine was really chugging just to do anything in Zbrush for it. Now it's at a much more manageable size as well as having properly laid out UVs. And as a size note, kudos to Zremesher cause it's awesome.

My newest sculpt is one of Luna from a little known anime that started this last year called Day Break Illusion. The version I'm going for is of her battle form on the right.

With this one I wanted to try a different method for my workflow. I used Dynamesh to make a very quick base mesh, yet I did the body in pieces: torso, head, legs, arms, hands and feet. From there I starting "stitching" the pieces together little by little. Currently the head is the only separate thing from the body. I was rather happy with the speed of this flow and believe I'll continue to use it from now on.

Lastly, I want to enter this contest my friend linked me to on Game Artisans. I'm not really in it for fame or prizes, I just want to do something and finally finish it. I'm hoping having an actual deadline will help.

After a long back and forth, I finally settled on picking Poison Ivy for my subject. What I want to do is recreate her with a new look. Preferably one that's not as revealing as most, but is definitely still sexy. I have many other ref images ranging from plants to clothing, but I imagine I'll have more for makeup and such later. It's a tall order, I know, but I hope I can do well with having so much time to work on it. Wish me luck!
