Finally Updating

I know it's been a long time since I've done anything on this blog, but you know it's hard finding a well paying job that's permanent. As such recently I was able to get a hold of two jobs, but alas my full time one's contract has come to an end and I'm left job searching again since my part time won't pay the bills. It's not the best of situations, but I can use it to my advantage by using what "free time" I do have now to update things art wise. So I've done some re-branding as you can all plainly see and am hoping to get some much needed progress going on all the sculpting projects I have hanging out, begging to be finished. Maybe I'll even get an illustration concept or two penciled out at some point, we shall see. I'm not stupid, I know I can't do EVERYTHING on my list like right this minute, but I do want to knock some stuff off in the near future because well, I want to put new things on there, lol.

Homegrown Heroes

Hey all! Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I promise I'm still working on mister dog boy, though probably not as diligently as I should be. Yes I know, bad Ann, bad. Anyway, to tide you over until I post a new update of that project I decided to show you a recent design contest entry I did. Okay, more like I actually remembered I did do something recently that I could share and thus am now showing you now. Like right now. Yeah.

It didn't win because there were like a whole bunch more last minute entries that just blew mine out of the water, but if it had it would have gone on a personal hand towel provided by PeopleTowels. I know crazy name right? Still they are all about helping the planet by reducing waste by selling towels that people just carry around in their pockets/bags instead of using paper towels constantly. The theme was about supporting our local farmers by buying and eating local. I thought it would be cool to do a simple design based off some of the retro-ish, vector superhero posters I've seen. After all, farmers are sort of like heroes too right? They do all the hard work of planting and plowing the food while we enjoy the fruits of their labor. If it weren't for them, we'd be all doing our own farming which I assure you, most of us don't have a clue as to how that all works. Not yours truly of course, but some others of which won't be named. Mostly because I can't think of anyone who wouldn't know how farming works, lol.

Anyway! Please enjoy!

Dog Boy Update

Hey everyone! I know it's been awhile and you probably thought I just gave up trying to model this character, but that is actually further from the truth. Has been taking a lot longer than I wanted, but I am still determined to see this guy all posed and polished later. Body sculpting is pretty much done for the moment so I'm going to move on to clothing before doing any finer details on the bode. Yes there's still more to do with that such as pads on both feet and hands, claws for hands and most obviously fur. I will also have to figure out how to get that mouth open so I can place teeth and a tongue in as well later. Thinking that might be something I wanna do after I retopo into low res version. Any thoughts on that would be much appreciated. Anyway for now, clothing, finally lol.

Update on Dog Boy Sculpt

Here's the progress on my dog boy. I didn't get that far this week since I was sick, but I still think things are shaping up quite nicely. I'm really proud of those legs. ^_^ Next I'll probably try doing some torso fixes before finishing the arms and finally moving onto the head. Though I may block out some clothing before getting there. We'll see where this pup goes, hehe.

New Years Art Challenge!

Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't posted anything in a long, long time, but it hasn't been that easy a transition for me from coming off of school and back to the real world again. It has been equally hard getting a job and being motivated enough to keep sculpting. But thank heavens for good friends because one of my old classmates from Full Sail issued me a challenge for the new year. We have one month to come up with a concept and to finish it. The concept I'm doing this month would be this:

The top right corner would be the main concept I'm going for, but with a little different tail since I want to use my own dog as my main inspiration.

I know, such a cutie right? Anyway, last night we uploaded our basic base and this is what I've got so far:

I've got quite a bit of work to do still, like fixing the legs since I'm making the character digitigrade, but I'm kinda happy of how it's coming along at the moment. Fur is gonna be a final thing since a rigger friend of mine wants to do a fur system, but I still think I'll make a version where I've actually sculpted the fur or maybe I'll get a newer version of zbrush so I can experiment with their fur brushes and such. I'll cross that bridge once I get to it though. Anyway, I'll post things on here as I do via our thread on Polycount.
